Join the City’s Top Policymakers and Advocates at the 6th Annual Legislative Breakfast

Kicking off the 6th Annual Tools for Transformation Conference is the Legislative Breakfast, which will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Radisson Midtown at theUniversity of Southern California. Come to this exciting annual event and engage in a conversation with the city’s top policymakers and advocates. Speak up and voice your concerns on the issues most pertinent to you and your family directly to the national, state, and local elected officials in attendance.

Distinguished guest panelists at this year’s breakfast include SEIU-ULTCW President Laphonza Butler, Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel, California State Assemblymember Holly J. Mitchell, California State Senator Curren D. Price, Jr., and California Endowment President and CEO Robert K. Ross, M.D., Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas will deliver the keynote speech, while ABC News Anchor Marc Brown will serve as the emcee. Live entertainment will be provided by the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

The theme of this year’s event is “Pathways to Equality” – a reflection of Special Needs Network’s mission to advocate for the rights of underserved families in our communities. Since our inception in 2005 we have helped thousands of families through our various direct-approach programs and awareness campaigns. (Learn more about our work.)

Sponsored by our community partners SEIU-ULTCW, St. John’s Well Child & Family Centers, the California Legislative Black Caucus, the Empowerment Congress, and the County of Los Angeles, this year’s Tools for Transformation Conference and Legislative Breakfast is set to bring together over 1,500 participants over two days.

I would like to register for the Legislative Breakfast and the Tools for Transformation Conference.

    • I believe if we don’t start helping the grass root FBO’s and CBO’s who are especially in Supervisory District 2,3 and 5 where most of our low income communities are, that this year we will lose more of those agencies than the last years and that Grass Root community most in need of services, (like a cat ) will start coming out of the comers and off the walls trying to survive the best way than can. Then what are we going to do?
