Recognizing the importance of civic engagement and the importance of participatory democracy, this community forum brings together local, state and national elected officials for a dialog with parents and stakeholders on issues of health, education, housing, jobs and public safety. Parents and other members of the community who otherwise might not have access to policy makers are provided an opportunity to meet, interact with and engage these leaders in discussions about how to improve the lives of their families and build healthier communities. Participants are provided updates on pending legislation and are afforded an opportunity to participate in an activity to insure that their concerns and voices are heard from the lowest to the highest governmental body in the state.
